Terms - One Wallet
On 2 September 2024, we made some changes to our One Wallet Terms and Conditions. You can find the previous terms here.
1. One Wallet is available for selected One NZ consumer customers on an eligible Pay Monthly plan. Please see the One Wallet page for current eligible Pay Monthly plans.
2. To access One Wallet and redeem your One Wallet balance, you must:
- download and register for the My One NZ app and
- add your mobile number as a service in the My One NZ app.
One Wallet will then be available for you via the One Wallet tile within 24 hours.
3. A One Wallet Dollar is equivalent to one New Zealand dollar.
4. Your One Wallet balance can only be redeemed to purchase selected phones on an Interest Free term with an eligible Pay Monthly plan for the mobile number associated with your One Wallet. Your redeemed One Wallet balance will be spread evenly over the agreed Interest Free term (12, 24 or 36 months) as a One Wallet discount.
5. Your One Wallet discount will be applied from your next monthly bill. If you change your mobile plan to another eligible mobile plan during your Interest Free term, you will continue to receive the discount. If you transfer or re-sign to an ineligible mobile plan during your Interest Free term, you will lose your One Wallet discount from that point onwards. If you cancel your mobile plan during your Interest Free term but still have an active service with One NZ, you will keep your One Wallet discount (while you continue to have an active service).
6. After your One Wallet discount is applied, a minimum remaining Interest Free amount of at least $0.01c per month must be payable for each month of your Interest Free term.
7. A minimum deposit is required when purchasing a device on Interest Free. Your One Wallet balance cannot be used as the deposit for your Interest Free purchase.
8. You must visit a One NZ retail store, be at least 18 years of age, and pass a credit check to redeem your One Wallet balance. You must use at least $1 of your One Wallet balance when redeeming.
9. We may, at our sole discretion, apply an initial welcome boost of a value of our choice to your One Wallet when you become eligible for One Wallet.
10. We may at any time, at our sole discretion, apply a goodwill balance of a value of our choice to your One Wallet.
11. We will send you personalised offers to help you build your One Wallet balance. These offers are only valid for your eligible mobile number associated with your One Wallet. You must redeem an offer by the expiry date specified in the offer.
12. The expiry date for each portion of One Wallet Dollars added to your One Wallet will be shown in your One Wallet balance history.
13. One Wallet Dollars will be removed from your balance as they expire.
14. If One Wallet Dollars are added to your One Wallet balance because you have redeemed an offer, and you then later become ineligible for that offer (i.e. if you upgrade your mobile plan and then transfer off that plan), the One Wallet Dollars that were added to your One Wallet balance from that offer will be removed.
15. Trade-in quotes added to your One Wallet balance will only be valid until the date indicated on the quote provided and are subject to our trade-in terms, including an in store visual inspection of the phone to verify the condition and determine the trade-in value.
16. We may change and update One Wallet offers and benefits from time to time.
17. The maximum value that you can reach in your One Wallet balance is $2,000 (excluding any value added to your balance from a trade-in quote).
18. Your One Wallet balance is personal to you and the mobile number associated with your One Wallet, and cannot be redeemed by any other person or mobile number.
19. Your One Wallet balance cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer, including Interest Free discounts.
20. Your One Wallet balance and any One Wallet discount cannot be exchanged or transferred to another account or mobile number, and is not redeemable for cash.
21. After your One Wallet discount is applied to an Interest Free term, if you use One Upgrade to upgrade to a new phone on a new Interest Free Term, you will lose your One Wallet discount and it cannot be transferred to the new Interest Free term.
22. If you transfer from an eligible Pay Monthly plan to an ineligible Pay Monthly or Prepay plan, your access to One Wallet and your One Wallet balance will be removed. If you later move onto an eligible Pay Monthly plan again, you will be able to access One Wallet again but any balance previously held in your One Wallet will not be reinstated.
23. Your access to One Wallet and your One Wallet balance will be removed if you become ineligible, if your mobile number associated with your One Wallet is disconnected or suspended, or in the event of your death. It may take up to 24 hours for your One Wallet to reflect that your One Wallet access and balance has been removed.
24. We may cancel or suspend your access to One Wallet by notice in writing if we reasonably believe that you have abused, misused or obtained by any misrepresentation your One Wallet balance (or any part of your balance).
25. We reserve the right to adjust your One Wallet balance if we identify any inaccuracy.
26. We may terminate One Wallet by giving you 30 days written notice. You may use your One Wallet balance during that 30 day period, however your balance and access to One Wallet will be removed at the end of that 30 day period.
27. We may change these One Wallet Terms and Conditions by giving you 30 days written notice.

One Wallet Offer Terms
Add Broadband Offer:
- Offer available to customers who have received the Add Broadband offer tile in their One Wallet and sign up to a new in market consumer One NZ broadband plan.
- You must add your new broadband plan to the billing account associated with your One Wallet.
- One Wallet Dollars from this offer will be added when your new broadband service becomes active, but may take up to 48 hours to show in your One Wallet.
- Once you have redeemed this offer and One Wallet Dollars have been added to your One Wallet, if you then become ineligible for the offer (i.e. you do not have an active broadband service on the billing account associated with your One Wallet), the relevant One Wallet Dollars will be removed from your One Wallet.
- The expiry date for One Wallet Dollars added to your One Wallet will be shown in your balance history.
- This offer is valid until the date shown on the Add Broadband offer tile in your One Wallet.
- This offer is not transferrable, and we may withdraw, amend or extend this offer at any time.
- One New Zealand’s One Wallet Terms and Broadband & Home Phone Specific Terms apply.
Upgrade to Unlimited Offer:
- Offer available to customers who have received the Upgrade to Unlimited offer tile in their One Wallet and upgrade to a consumer One Plan Pay Monthly mobile plan.
- One Wallet Dollars from this offer will be added when your new One Plan Pay Monthly plan becomes active, but may take up to 48 hours to show in your One Wallet.
- Once you have redeemed this offer and One Wallet Dollars have been added to your One Wallet, if you then become ineligible for the offer (i.e. you cancel or trade down your new One Plan Pay Monthly plan), the relevant One Wallet Dollars will be removed from your One Wallet.
- The expiry date for One Wallet Dollars added to your One Wallet will be shown in your balance history.
- This offer is valid until the date shown on the Upgrade to Unlimited offer tile in your One Wallet.
- This offer is not transferrable, and we may withdraw, amend or extend this offer at any time.
- One New Zealand’s One Wallet Terms and Pay Monthly Terms apply.
Add a Mobile Offer:
- Offer available to customers who have received the Add a Mobile offer tile in their One Wallet and sign up to a new in market consumer One NZ Pay Monthly plan.
- You must add your new Pay Monthly plan to the billing account associated with your One Wallet.
- One Wallet Dollars from this offer will be added when the new Pay Monthly plan becomes active, but may take up to 48 hours to show in your One Wallet.
- Once you have redeemed this offer and One Wallet Dollars have been added to your One Wallet, if you then become ineligible for the offer (i.e. you remove the Pay Monthly plan from your billing account), the relevant One Wallet Dollars will be removed from your One Wallet.
- The expiry date for One Wallet Dollars added to your One Wallet will be shown in your balance history.
- This offer is valid until the date shown on the Add a Mobile offer tile in your One Wallet.
- This offer is not transferrable, and we may withdraw, amend or extend this offer at any time.
- One New Zealand’s One Wallet Terms and Pay Monthly Terms apply.
Add a Companion Offer:
- Offer available to customers who have received the Add a Companion offer tile in their One Wallet and add a new companion plan to the mobile number associated with their One Wallet.
- One Wallet Dollars from this offer will be added when the new companion plan becomes active, but may take up to 48 hours to show in your One Wallet.
- Once you have redeemed this offer and One Wallet Dollars have been added to your One Wallet, if you then become ineligible for the offer (i.e. you remove the companion plan from your billing account), the relevant One Wallet Dollars will be removed from your One Wallet.
- The expiry date for One Wallet Dollars added to your One Wallet will be shown in your balance history.
- This offer is valid until the date shown on the Add a Companion offer tile in your One Wallet.
- This offer is not transferrable, and we may withdraw, amend or extend this offer at any time.
- One New Zealand’s One Wallet Terms and Pay Monthly Terms apply.
Set Up Direct Debit Offer:
- Offer available to customers who have received the Set Up Direct Debit offer tile in their One Wallet and change the payment method on the billing account associated with their One Wallet to pay by direct debit.
- One Wallet Dollars from this offer will be added when the payment method is updated to direct debit on the billing account, but may take up to 48 hours to show in your One Wallet.
- Once you have redeemed this offer and One Wallet Dollars have been added to your One Wallet, if you then become ineligible for the offer (i.e. you change your payment method to something other than by direct debit), the relevant One Wallet Dollars will be removed from your One Wallet.
- The expiry date for One Wallet Dollars added to your One Wallet will be shown in your balance history.
- This offer is valid until the date shown on the Set Up Direct Debit offer tile in your One Wallet.
- This offer is not transferrable, and we may withdraw, amend or extend this offer at any time.
- One New Zealand’s One Wallet Terms and Direct Debit Terms apply.
Stacker Offers:
- We will intermittently run activations where eligible customers can add more One Wallet Dollars to their balance by redeeming a stacker offer in their One Wallet.
- Offers available to customers who have received a stacker offer tile in their One Wallet.
- Offer specific details will be displayed in the relevant offer tile on One Wallet, including the offer period, the value of One Wallet Dollars for each offer, and how you can redeem an offer.
- You can only redeem a stacker offer once during the relevant offer period.
- The expiry date for One Wallet Dollars added to your One Wallet through redeeming a stacker offer will be shown in your balance history.
- Stacker offers are not transferrable, and we may withdraw, amend or extend at any time.
